Discover Hoover’s Veterans Park

Enjoy Hoover—Veterans’ Park

Yay for the sun!

Don’t know about you, but I am enjoying soaking in the rays of the last days of Summer.

There are so many enjoyable things to do outside our front doors that make Hoover an activity-packed space for everyone!

If you are looking for a place to host your birthday party, volleyball practice, walking the dog, a jog on the site’s cross-country 5k trail, or maybe just a weekend picnic—you have come to the right place at Hoover’s Veterans Park!

Situated on an 82-acre span of land adjacent to Spain Park High School and Spain Park Sports Complex, this scenic event space memorializes the many veterans who have served in the armed forces.

In addition to having two adjoining playgrounds, wheelchair access to the site’s facilities, miles of running trails, a fishing pond, and volleyball sandpits, the site allows for pavilion use on a first-come-first-serve basis, unless previously booked by a large event.

There are so many ways to spend your afternoons in this multipurpose activity park at 4800 Valleydale Road.

Activities for the Whole Family

Amid juggling work projects and busy school schedules, weekends are so important!

For those seeking to make the park an all-day Saturday event, many picnic tables are strategically situated throughout the pavilion area, facilitating your picnic lunch. In addition, your kids will enjoy the sand volleyball courts, or the many fields, allowing a variety of field sports.

Bring that Spikeball setup, corn-hole, and ultimate frisbees to avail your party of the spacious activity area—no matter the event!
