Moss Rock Preserve

Moss Rock Preserve is the perfect place to explore nature and the outdoors. This 349 acre preserve
includes forest systems, contains six rare plant species, many large climbable rocks and boulders,
streams, waterfalls, an extremely rare variant of a Sandstone Glade, wildlife, and
much more
beautiful nature to take in and enjoy.

Inverness Nature Park and Trails

This 77 acre forest park is a beautiful place for you to peacefully unwind. Inverness Nature Park has a
greenway, hiking trails, woods, Alabama wildlife, streams, picnic areas, natural scenery, and a
Disk Golf Course with rolling hills and benches all around. The 18-hole course has a variety of
difficulty ranges for players with different skill levels to all enjoy together.

Veterans Park

With playgrounds, beach volleyball courts, lots of picnic tables and pavilions, acres of open fields for play,
two ponds for fishing, and a 5K trail for walking or running, Veterans Park is the place to be with
family and friends throughout the year. Plus, it holds a beautiful Veterans’ Memorial at its center.

Aldridge Gardens

Aldridge Gardens is a beautiful botanical garden located in Hoover. The site is open every day
from 8am to 7pm, except for on holidays and special events. The Gardens have a variety of
activities, classes, and events to participate in throughout the week. The organization does not
require but does greatly benefit from all kinds of donations.

Black Creek Mountain Bike Park

Hoover’s Black Creek Mountain Bike Park is the perfect place to explore with your bike. This 73
acre mountain bike park has 5 miles of trails built into the natural Alabama terrain. It has a
variety of different kinds of trails for all levels of riders.

Cahaba Riverchase Greenway Trailhead

Do you want to explore the Cahaba River area? There is a .5 mile asphalt pedestrian trail that
winds through an open field, into a shady pine thicket, and across two bridges along the river.
You can also sit and observe the scene on benches, and there are trash cans available so you
can help preserve this natural habitat.
